Helo, Esther ydw i, myrfyrwraig ail flwyddyn o brifysgol Caerdydd. Dysgais yn Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni, ac yn awr rydw i’n astudio Newyddiaduriaeth, cyfryngau a lenyddiaeth saesneg fel radd cyfun yn y brifysgol. Pan ddaeth y siawns i weithio yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol eleni, ni allai i basio’r cyfle! Gan wneud cais ac yna lwyddo yn y cyfweliad, welais i’r profiad fel cyfle i ymarfer fy sgiliau newyddiadurol mewn amgylchedd gwaith go iawn. Mae’n fraint anferthol i gael brofiad drwy wahanol gyfryngau cymdeithasol, yn y Gymraeg a’r Saesneg. Rydw i’n frwd bydd y profiad yn fy nghynorthwyo i sefydlu sylfaen dda o wybodaeth ar gyfer gyrfa yn y maes mae gen i awydd i weithio ynddi. Fy nod yw i ddod â safbwynt Cymro ifanc, newydd a chyffrous i un o’r wyliau diwylliannol fwyaf Ewrop.
Hi, I’m Esther, a second year student currently in Cardiff University. I attended Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni and now am studying Journalism, Media and English Literature as a joint honours degree in the University. When the chance came along to work at this year’s National Eisteddfod, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by! After applying and succeeding with the interview, I was excited to have the opportunity to practice my journalistic skills in a real working environment. It’s a great privilege to have been chosen to work and write through both English and Welsh media. I’m enthusiastic about the experience and the fact that it will supply a good base of information for a career in the field that I have a desire to work within. My aim is to bring a youthful, Welsh stance that is new and exciting to one of Europe’s biggest cultural festivals.
