Where to get free refreshments on the Maes

2 August 2015

Wandering around the Eisteddfod can be tiring and there’s nothing like having a cool drink when it’s hot (and it’s pretty warm today, isn’t it?), or a coffee to warm yourself up. Don’t want to take your wallet out? Here is our list of places to grab a free drink (and maybe a sneaky biscuit).

– Cardiff University stand

Grab a coffee or a tea and indulge in a ‘Cardiff University’ chocolate (or two), whilst browsing on their free wifi.

– Aberswyth University stand

Tea and coffee are also available for free. ‘Always with a smile’, we are told. You can have your ‘cuppa’ to go in a take-away cup too.

– Farmer’s Union of Wales (FUW)

You will be offered tea and coffee along with scrumptious looking cupcakes if you wander along to the FUW stand.

– Dewch i ddweud helo

You can enjoy tea, coffee and squash over at the friendly stand of Llywyfan Maes.

– Maldwyn Atal Peilonau

Head over to Maldwyn Atal Peilonau for free tea, coffee, water and strawberry milkshakes! They also have homemade cupcakes-with-a-message that make you think about their cause.

– National Assembly for Wales

The lovely people from the National Assembly for Wales are happy to welcome you with tea, coffee and squash.

– Dwr Cymru

Reflect on the use of water and go back with a free water bottle! You have one task to complete when you are over at Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water): make three pledges.

1. Don’t waste water,

2. Don’t block sewers by dropping rubbish in the toilet

3. Be responsible around reservoirs.

Once you’ve made these promises, you will be handed a refillable bottle. There is also a tap where anyone can fill up their bottles with Welsh Water (it doesn’t have to be a ‘Dwr Cymru’ bottle).

– Macmillan Cancer Support

Support cancer patients by heading over to the Macmillan stand. You can have a chat, find out about research and advice on how to help cancer patients and enjoy a coffee, a tea, biscuits and even cake (feel free to make a donation, but it isn’t obligatory)! Check out their ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’, taking place every morning on the Eisteddfod.

– Mudiad Efengylaidd Cymru

Have coffee, tea and biscuits over at the Mudiad Efengylaidd Cymru where we are told the coffee is ‘proper coffee, not some of that instant stuff.’
